Getting Paid

Introduction

There are many factors that go into how your employer pays you for your service. You can be paid hourly or with a yearly or piecework salary. You can earn bonuses and tips or receive overtime pay. You can collect a paycheck weekly, biweekly, monthly or semimonthly. There are so many different elements that play a part in how much you earn in each paycheck. Are you ready to start earning your first paycheck?

Reading a Time Card

A time card records your working hours for the week. It’s important that you know how to read a time card and whether the company you work for rounds up or down to the quarter hour. Watch the video and work along with the example.
