View the infographic below.

Businesses and the Economy, GDP, Thriving Businesses, Inflation, Unemployment Rate, Failing Businesses, Spending, Business Problems, Profits

In this graphic you can see there is a relationship between business and the economy. Businesses have a big impact on the economy and the economy has a big impact on business. This lesson will show how businesses impact the economy in many different ways, including the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which is the main measure of the health of the economy. Businesses also impact inflation and the unemployment rate and many other major aspects of our economy. On the other hand, the economy also impacts business. If the economy is not doing well, it causes a lot of problems for businesses, sometimes causing them to fail. When the economy is not doing good, people do not buy as much. If people do not buy as much, businesses do not make as much money. Businesses then are not able to afford to employ as many people and people lose their jobs.
