How We Put Our Work Together in a Story Board or Book to Illustrate One Main Idea: Final Illustration

Introduction

Before you start this stage, go back through your notes, story, and research to clarify the direction you want to go in. Read your story several times and identify which parts are pivotal and provide the most imagery. Begin with the strongest impressions. Realize that you may need to make multiple examples before finalizing your idea. Have fun with the process! I can’t wait to see your story boards!

Story Board Extension

As you develop your illustrations, you can always make it longer and more detailed. The minimum requirement is to create two pages of story boards. However, you can continue the process to fill 4, 6, or more pages. There is no maximum. Once finished, this can become the start of a published book or graphic novel. There is nothing stopping you from developing your idea further.

Have you honored what is best for the story? Who is your audience? What is the story’s potential impact?
