Demonstration on Blind Contour
It is now time to watch the Demonstration on Blind Contour. Take notes as you watch the video and reach out to your instructor with any questions.
Information about this video:
- It will be easier to complete this on a separate piece of paper and not in your sketchbook. You can glue it into the sketchbook later.
- Fold your paper in half as shown in the video.
- Tape the back half to your table so that the front half can fold open and closed.
- Take a minute to look at your non- dominant hand and trace the outer and inner edges with your pencil (as seen in the video.)
- Place the pencil on the inside flap of your paper and allow the paper to close so you cannot see your drawing.
- Draw your hand only looking at your hand. Don’t look at the paper. Don’t pick up your pencil once you start.
- Try to draw the wrinkles and details as you go.
- This is about the process- not the product. It’s ok if it doesn’t look like a hand.
- I’m looking to see whether you attempted to draw the details as you went and whether you picked up your pencil.
- Upload a picture of your drawing when you are done.
