Sol - Solubility (Lesson)

Solubility

Introduction

A graph illustrating the solubility of Salt in 100 grams of waterIn this lesson we will discuss solubility. Solubility describes the ability of a substance to dissolve in a solvent. You will need the following solubility graph to complete the practice problems in this lesson, as well as problems on quizzes and test within this module.

Download and print this solubility graph so that you will have it on hand for all assessments. Links to an external site.

Solubility, Insolubility, and Saturated Solutions

In this segment of Chemistry Matters, the students learn about solubility, insolubility, and saturated solutions. They interpret the data they compiled during the lab on dissolving salts. In the classroom, the teacher tests several solutions, and they discuss the nature of chemical solutions.

You will not be required to complete the electrolyte solution demonstration.
