MRC - Dimensional Analysis (Lesson)

Dimensional Analysis

Introduction

Dimensional Analysis (also known as the Factor-Label Method) is a problem-solving technique that takes advantage of the fact that any number or expression can be multiplied by one (1) without changing its value. It is a useful technique in chemistry. You may end up thinking that chemistry is simply a math problem - which is definitely not the case. Let’s take a look at how this process can help us understand quantities involved in chemical processes.

Stoichiometry

Stoichiometry is introduced in this segment of Chemistry Matters, and the students discuss the basics of dimensional analysis.
