CRE - Types of Chemical Reactions (Lesson)

Types of Chemical Reactions

Introduction

When you mix chemicals, you may observe a chemical reaction. Chemical reactions take many forms based on how the atoms are rearranged during the process of reacting. This lesson will help you to recognize 5 basic types of chemical reactions and how they play a role in real life chemistry.

Different Chemical Reactions

This segment of GPB’s Chemistry Matters explores different types of reactions by performing a lab and talking with two special guests - Dr. Eileen Kennedy, who explains how scientists use chemical reactions to synthesize new medications, and Dr. Mike Petelle, who discusses acid rain.
