You may have always heard that integrity matters and honesty counts, but do you know why? Explore why this is important in the decisions that you make.

Integrity in Leadership

What would you do if you found $2000 in a garbage can? Would you take it to your local police station, give it away, or take it home? Acting on integrity can be difficult at times, but as a future business leader, you will need to set a standard so that your coworkers trust that you will do what is right no matter the consequences. General Ronald Fogleman notes in his article, The Leadership Integrity Link, that leaders with integrity possess the four characteristics indicated below.

Sincerity - the actions of the individual matches his words Consistency - act with integrity by applying the rules Substance - leaders persevere even through difficult times Good Finishers - good leaders persevere until a task is completed and they perform at the maximum extent of their abilities
