When developing your music or dance video during Pre-Production, you will need to create an original script and storyboard. The Music and Video script you will use has 2 columns that are Song Lyrics and Story Concept. Below is a sample template:

The storyboard can be any of the traditional formats at one of the sites listed in the book resource icon above.
Remember, that your storyboard should show the motion that is going to occur, so it might be easier to take pictures of any dance moves and insert. Also, during Pre-Production you will ensure that you have everything you need to shoot footage such as, but not limited to:
- Camera
- Props
- Costumes
- Location
- Stabilizers like a tripod
- Dancers if needed
- Costumes
During the Production Stage you will shoot your footage making sure to tell your story through music and dance. You can use apps such as musically, iMovie, or triller to make your video. These are also effective tools during the Post-Production Stage when you edit, publish, and share.

Think about some of the most famous music and dance videos out there, from the launch of MTV to Michael Jackson’s Thriller video. Today, we have a plethora of ways to get our videos out there, and many have become famous from social media exposure. Can you think of some famous artists who might not be famous if it weren’t for social media exposure? Without an amazing video to capture attention social media could be detrimental, so make sure when you make your music and dance videos you think it through so that it impacts and gains you notoriety.
