Discover the different parts of the studio.

  • Control Room or Hub - This is the area where all of the signals are received and then assembled to make the product you see on air. It includes installing HD-ready components capable of handling and outputting a standard definition signal over the existing infrastructure. Solid state media and media server technology is located in the control room. Digital technology such as automation and Dante (audio over IP–a way of sending audio feeds over CAT5 ethernet cable) is used for audio.
  • Stage - The stage is generally in front of a green screen or LED screen. On the stage there could be a table and chairs for the anchors.
  • LED Screens - These can be curved or flat and project different video footage.
  • Cameras - A variety of flexible cameras can be found throughout the studio so that different perspectives and shots can be taken.
  • Vocal Booth - This is often an area where the reporter can do voice overs on news segments.
  • Interview - The interview area is a warmer environment often with a couch and/or chairs.
  • Green Screen - This allows any digital image to be projected to seem as if the reporter is there. This is often used with the meteorologist to project the weather map.
  • Monitors - Used often by meteorologists to see what is actually on the weather map projected on the green screen.
