The Crew

Introduction

The film crew is generally divided between Above the Line jobs that include the producer, director, screenwriters, and key actors while Below the Line jobs include everyone else. The Above the Line are associated with set gross fixed costs while the Below the Line includes contracted variable positions depending on the film’s needs. It is shocking how many departments and roles exist in the production process. We will focus in this micro-lesson on those roles necessary before production can occur.

How many of these statements accurately describe your own personal choices?  The more you resonated with, the healthier your lifestyle.

Answer true and false to the statements below:

Above the Line members include the producer, director, screenwriters, and all actors.

The producer is in charge of all artistic and dramatic aspects; pre-visualizes film scenes often using a storyboard artist.

The director likes to visualize the film by creating or having someone create a storyboard.

The costume supervisor designs the costumes, creates the characters' outifts/costumes, and balance the scenes with texture and color etc.

It is necessary to have accountants and lawyers before, during, and after production is over.
