Creating an Impact with your Camera

Introduction:

Every day we are exposed to a plethora of innovative media that impact our emotions, academia, and daily life. Many have forged careers utilizing social media platforms sparking a surge of technological advances that provide more ease in production. With these developments, a person can create an entire production with just their personal device, but to truly tell a story, it’s important to understand how to optimize your camera features, and create a clean shot.  

Every producer wants to ensure that each production impacts the viewer and encourages the feeling or behavior intended in that moment. With media being such an integral part of our daily lives, it is essential that each shot is made with purpose. Think of your favorite commercials, movies, or social media productions, and what makes them stand out? What characteristics make the story come alive and make a lasting impression?  

In this module, we will explore basic elements of camera use to create Audio Visual Technology and Film products that will effectively tell the story as they were imagined.
