Final Thoughts
Now that you have reviewed the foundational elements of the AP English Literature Exam, it’s time to start focusing upon seeing these elements through various critical lenses. These critical lenses (sometimes referred to as critical theory) will help you to delve deeper into texts and focus upon consistent themes. Also by study of critical lens, you will be more likely to avoid the “summary trap” with the open-ended essay question.
